The Company

My client is a very large food manufacturer in the Greater Manchester area.  They are looking for an interim commissioning manager to manage the planning and implementation of capital projects.  You will be involved from the planning right up to the hand over.



  • Planning of plant commissioning, trials and training
  • Equipment optimisation
  • Coordinating ramp ups
  • Equipment troubleshooting
  • Operator and engineer training
  • Regular progress reports
  • Project scoping
  • Reviewing functional design specs
  • Identification of critical spare parts and critical maintenance needs
  • Reviewing both mechanical and electrical installs
  • Supplier liaison
  • Completion of handover files


Key skills and qualifications

  • Engineering or Operations leader with FMCG experience
  • Engineering Background preferable
  • Strong organisation, communication and influencing skills 
  • Computer literate
  • Skilled in machine safety techniques such as PUWER, Task risk assessment, HACCP and hygiene equipment design advantageous
  • Understanding of early equipment management and CI techniques
