Production Operatives – Production Kitchen

Rochester, Kent

Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week. Permanent vacancies.

The Company

An expanding business that provides chilled healthy and organic food & drink for a number of customers including food retailers, caterers, and food wholesalers. They are now seeking to appoint a number of operatives to work within their Food Production Kitchen.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Operatives will be responsible for producing high quality fresh food & drinks in both a safe and timely manner working within a busy production kitchen.

The job will involve operating purpose-built machinery and equipment such as Dehydrators, Hydraulic Presses, Hand Grinders, Weighing & Portioning Equipment and Packaging Machinery. Daily duties will include: loading raw materials into process equipment, mixing, blending, weighing, portioning, packing, juicing, pressing fruit & veg, grinding, and packing finished products ready for despatch.

We are looking to hear from candidates who will enjoy a physical role in a busy production kitchen where they will be working as part of a team, focused on meeting production targets.

The Production Operatives will apply a can-do attitude that focuses on getting the job done. A willingness to ask questions or inform the manager if you feel there is a better way of working or if there is an issue with the products or machinery.

The Person

Although no previous Food Production experience is required, an interest in health food may assist, as you would be working closely with raw foods, converting them into healthy food & drinks. Good communication skills and ability to work as a team. Ability to train on different elements of the production process. Ability to concentrate whilst performing repetitive tasks. Ability to carryout physical tasks which may involve lifting.
