Are you an experienced Costing/Commercial Analyst with a background in Packaging or FMCG? Do you live in Lancashire? If so we are looking for you!

This global business is leading the way in packaging manufacturing for food service industries, boasting an impressive client base of blue chip brands and retailers.

There is a new opportunity for a Costing and Commercial Analyst to join the existing team, reporting to the Financial Controller the successful candidate will be responsible for working across multiple functions to create a full understanding of cost and margin implications for the site with measurement of operational performance.

You will carry out a monthly manufacturing review of master data versus actuals, creating cost variance and further understanding of waste and yield. You will work alongside the sales team to create pricing guides for new business and provide costings for potential products as well as working alongside production to help understand and drive cost reduction. Maintaining accurate and relevant business system data is essential for this role.

Other elements of your role include providing the business with "what-if" scenarios, assist with the annual review of all costing to support budget process and understand and develop bill of materials to provide a more accurate cost base.

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • You will have previous experience working in either in a packaging or FMCG environment
  • Experience working as an analyst within a commercial accounting department is required
  • Strong educational background, qualified under a recognised accountancy body
  • Knowledge of core accounting principles IAS, GAAP, data extraction and analysis
  • Experience of ERP systems as well as a CIMA or ACCA qualification is ideal but not essential

You will be an excellent communicator who is personable and approachable as well as adaptable. It is important that you are driven to continuously look for improvements in all areas and have the desire to advance your personal knowledge.
