Title: Hygiene Manager
Location: Spalding - Lincolnshire
Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time
Salary: Up to £50,000 pa depending upon experience
Bakkavor Salads are seeking to recruit a Hygiene Manager to work at our Spalding food manufacturing site. You role will be to lead and manage the hygiene function with accountability for a 24/7 hygiene operation.
You will need the following:-
6 years previous experience in a hygiene manager role
Proven track record of leading through people
Nebosh general certificate
Advanced Food hygiene / level 4 food safety
Previous auditing experience
Knowledge of HACCP
Ability to analyse performance information and utilise KPIs to drive improvements
Ability to communicate with and influence at all levels and up to Director
Good general IT skills and excellent excel skills
Previous budget experience
Health & Safety - To ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees in their operation and that as a minimum their area meets the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy.
Technical Integrity - To ensure standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping within their area appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
Budget control – The ability to plan, measure and deliver all Hygiene budgeted costs including labour and material
Team Development - Involvement in the selection process for direct reports. Responsible for the recruitment of the right calibre of people for levels below direct reports. Ensures that the people in area of responsibility are managed in line with company procedures in all aspects of their employment, ensures there is a positive employee relations culture where indicators such as grievances, absence, turnover rates are in control.
Measurement & Control - Utilise appropriate agreed KPIs as a basis for the development of Performance Improvement Plans within the Operation and cascade these KPIs through the Team, ensuring that they are translated and used at all levels. Plan, organise, and measure resources to ensure that targets are met.
People Development - Owns training and development and performance management of individuals within their area to enable progression to resource growth or to replace current roles, and to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all levels.
Communication - To ensure that the workforce in their operation is well informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-functional links and those channels of communication are clear and available.
Continuous Improvement – proactively looks at ways to improve their operation. A key player in demonstrating and promoting industry best practice. To represent the key source of Hygiene related knowledge, and to interpret relevant technical data and microbiological results.
Employee Relations - Support and develop a Factory culture in their area where individuals feel able to challenge the status quo and encourage feedback from all levels. Support and implement change processes within their area in line with Bakkavör values.
