Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time  

Salary: £23,500 - £25,500 depending on experience. There is a £1500 shift allowance. 

Hours of work: Hours are flexible for this role, 37.5 per week.  These can be worked either on a 4 on 4 off shift, or 5 nights per week

Job Description

Bakkavor Salads are recruiting for a Health & Safety Co-ordinator to work at our Bourne food manufacturing site in Lincolnshire on our Twilight / Night shift. 

Your main purpose will be to support the H&S Manager in managing and co-ordinating site H&S systems to ensure legal compliance and actively promote a Health & Safety culture focusing on Continuous Improvement.

It is essential that you have a good understanding of factory environment, good PC skills and the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of key H&S Practices.  IOSH Qualified, you will have experience of active involvement within H&S, coupled with manufacturing experience.  You must be willing to be flexible in terms of hours / shift / location if required.

Your remit will include:- 

Updating & maintaining of appropriate databases including - Accident Database, Risk Assessment Database, Shared H&S drive and SHE manual.  Safety meeting administration – including: - Meeting preparation, action taking and distribution. Attending / conducting meetings as required.

You will generate and communicate weekly and monthly reports as required.  Responsible for preparing RIDDOR forms for submission, coupled with collating, responding to and storing information relating to personal injury claims.

Conducting risk assessments on and off site including: Machinery (PUWER/PDI) COSHH, Manual Handling, General Task, Repetitive Tasks, Vulnerable Persons as well as conducting site inspections, site tours and planned audits to identify hazards, non - conformances and generate preventative / corrective action reports.

Advising Line managers with specialist advice and support to ensure accident investigations are robust and follow up with root cause analysis. Also to advise in NPD processes and ad hoc as required. You will deliver specific H&S training as required by the business, and delivery and development of tool box talks.
You will also deputise for SHE Manager in their absence.
