Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Bakkavor Salads for a Technical Manager to join our busy Food Manufacturing site in Spalding, Lincolnshire.   Your role will be to ensure that appropriate controls are in place to deliver food safety, legality and customer technical requirements.

Your main accountabilities will be to ensure relevant standards, HACCP based as appropriate, are communicated, understood and applied to meet Food Safety, Quality and Legality, and customer specified requirements. The standards must be documented and maintained within a recognised system.

You will effectively manage communication on all Technical matters with customers, both internal and external, and suppliers to develop relationships and ensure that Bakkavör Technical opinion is considered and respected.

Providing Technical function input into formulation and agreement of overall business strategy including budget and PIP initiatives.  Through personal and team objectives, delivers Technical aspects of Business Unit and Bakkavör strategy

You will identify and implement Technical KPI’s (Food Safety, Quality and Legality) to monitor standards and drive the business forward through Continuous Improvement, whilst providing  the practical support and drive to promote a Quality Assurance culture.

Responsible for managing as appropriate any food safety incident in a professional, timely and efficient manner, drawing lessons from the incidence and implementing preventative measures.

You will own the recruitment of the Technical team, ensuring that the right structure and necessary skills are in place, and that the Bakkavör and Business Unit values are reflected.  Owning the Technical Training and Development requirements of the Business Unit, and of the Technical team enabling progression to resource growth and / or replace current roles within the function.
