Our client, a manufacturer of high-quality products in Fife, is currently looking to recruit a Transport Manager to join their successful team.
The purpose of the role is to
- Provide strategic direction for the Distribution Department and, through good leadership, create a culture of best practice and continuous improvement.
- Give direction to the daily activities carried by Distribution Department via the management chain.
- Propose strategic directives for the department and create a structured program to deliver these directives including but not limited to: structure, manning, role definition, use of space, loading bays, Christmas out loading etc.
- Act as a coach and mentor the Distribution Manager.
Candidates must have previous experience of a similar role in the food industry; possess excellent people management skills, organisational skills and an understanding of CPC.
You must also have the ability to plan strategically understanding the role of the department in the wider organisation and the ability to critically analyse own performance as well as that of others, to identify shortfalls and determine strategies to improve ( training, mentoring etc.).
Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm, with some flexibility required.
Indicative Salary Range: £35000 - 45000
