Pan Artisan is a BRC accredited, award winning specialist supplier of dough based products for the food service industry. The company’s growth and success over the past few years is due to a dedicated team and the company now requires a new team member to take responsibility on improving procurement and site maintenance.
About the Role…
Reporting to the Operations Director you will create and maintain a system for managing the end to end procurement process:
reviewing the suitability and efficiency of suppliers and contractors, negotiating with suppliers, managing ongoing vendor relationships and working with the business to understand demand.
You will manage the bill of materials to ensure the optimum cost per unit is achieved and the annual renewal of contracts ensuring negotiation is undertaken in a timely manner to secure best price.
In conjunction with Product Development and Technical teams you will source new materials.
Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the automated bakery production system (Phoenix).
Support the Warehouse Manager with optimisation of stock-holding for manufactured and factored goods ensuring best use of logistics and storage.
Support management in ensuring that resources are available to meet ongoing needs and efficiency improvements, assisting with research of available systems and services.
You will liaise with the relevant departments to ensure that the facility is fit for purpose for all aspects of day to day operation, taking into account the different needs of a wide range of staff, users and visitors.
Ensure that the buildings, site and facilities are managed and maintained to a consistently high standard meeting the requirements of customers and all relevant authorities and also manage site security is maximised ensuring the safety of staff, product and assets are not compromised.
Ultimately you will develop, monitor and operate processes and systems to ensure that purchasing, operational systems and facilities are at a high and sustainable standard.
Although a formal qualification is not required, experience and knowledge of purchasing and negotiating raw materials within the food / FMCG industry is key.
Advanced skills in MS Office and an aptitude for computers and a good command in English, both written and spoken is paramount.
You must be self-motivated with results orientated approach.
Experience in working in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
