Job Title:

Transport Coordinator

Site:

Logistics and Distribution Hub, Intermezzo Drive, Leeds, LS10 1DF

The Organisation

We are a private family owned, Yorkshire business with our ‘roots’ firmly in the fresh produce trade. Our organisation is fast-paced, exciting, dynamic and due to rapid successful growth our organisation is seeking a new exciting addition to the prestigious Transport Team, based at our Royds Farm Road Vegetable processing site in Beeston.

The Team

The Transport Team are the flagship of our business, carrying our logo and goods across the length and breadth of the UK. They also transport our reputation throughout the UK by being known as some of the safest Drivers. They are the epitome of class and diligence. They drive safely, have a ‘trailer’ load of experience and know their roads like the back of their hands. They  work hard in the best fleet we can find and look after our vehicles.  They are a hardworking and friendly team. They are have a knack for delivering our goods to our customers in a courteous, friendly way.

If you have a valid HGV class 1 licence, are able to know the roads of Britain and are passionate for taking care of vehicles products and our customers, then this is the team for you.  This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation who are pushing the boundaries of innovation in their sector.

The Role

In this role you will turn up for work and ensure paperwork is ready for our Drivers for when they arrive on shift. If not, then you will ensure this is organised ready for departure. You will ensure All Drivers turn in for their shift on time and chase down any Drivers who fail to show up. Furthermore you’ll assist in planning and arrange immediate cover for any replacements required in order for goods to hit the road on time for our Customers. You will report any issues to the Transport Manager / Assistant Transport Manager.

You will be required to organise shunting throughout the night, and maybe required to shunt things yourself, so it is essential you have a valid HGV Class 1 licence and full CPC training card. You will ensure Drivers returning to the yard leave their vehicles in a respectable state and refuel their trailers and trucks. You will deal with any issues with the Drivers and pass this information onto the Transport Manager where applicable.

You will ensure packaging and ingredients are on site for the start of Production where applicable and conduct toolbox talks with Drivers for any updates to training they require. You will liaise with Customers if there are going to be any late deliveries, and report back to your Line Manager where this is the case and the reason(s) for it.

You will be organised, methodical and be able to listen to Drivers issues and take pragmatic steps to resolve any issues.

You will attend CPC training to keep your CPC licence up to date, and strive for the highest standards of Driver safety.

You will cover for Assistant Transport Manager in their absence, so there is plenty of opportunity and scope to develop and move into other roles within the business.  You will have a sense of humour, be hard working and passionate about Driving. We are looking for someone who will be flexible to the business demands and offer competitive package and excellent training and development prospects tailored to your experience and development needs. We are looking to put the successful applicant through their Transport Management CPC qualification after 1 years’ service.

So, if you are looking for your next career move in a fast paced environment, then we we’d love to hear from you.
