The Organisation

We are a private family owned, Yorkshire business with our ‘roots’ firmly in the fresh produce trade. Our organisation is fast-paced, exciting, dynamic and due to rapid successful growth our organisation is seeking a new exciting addition to the New Product Development Team, based at our Salads Manufacturing site in Hunslet.

The Team

The New Product Development Team are a small and creative feature to our expanding business. They are crazy, creative, extremely fun and supportive. They work extremely hard to ensure customers (both prospective and current) are satisfied with their ever growing requirements of new food innovations and products.  They meet regularly with new and existing suppliers to examine the latest trends in the marketplace in terms of food ingredients and trends and work this into their latest innovations for their customer presentations. They ensure customers are embedded into the factory and processes and procedures are stringent throughout the pre and post first production process.  They have a passion and flair for food and demonstrate this regularly, whether it be showcasing their cooking talents with internal department team lunches or through innovation with new customers and visitors, they have the knack of ensuring everyone gets a tighter belt.

The Role

This is 12 months secondment upon completion of which, if candidate has proven to be good then this will lead to a permanent role. Role will be very similar but the advantage is it is permanent and an increased wage.

In this role you’ll work closely with the NPD Technologists and Head of NPD undertaking various projects in development of new products and modification of existing ones for customers throughout the UK and Ireland. You will ensuring your attention to detail is second to none, checking recipes stringently for the correct weight and double checking the final product looks, tastes and smells good.  You will be assisting in undertaking trails, product reviews while liaising with other departments in the aim to supply products that reach our customers’ expectations.

Hours of Work

 Hour days Monday to Friday 8-5. Start times will vary through the Summer and Winter as we go in and out of peak seasons. Overtime required in peak seasons.

Days / Shift Details

This role is to work Monday - Friday , however overtime may be required on weekends.

Pay Details

£16K-£17K per annum for first  12 months

Half hour for lunch unpaid. Two 15 minute breaks paid.

Contract Information

28 days holiday per year including bank holidays.
12 month contract, which possibility of going permanent
