Production Maintenance Engineer

This is an exciting position working for an independently owned chilled food manufacturer. The company import and process products from all over Europe and are dedicated to creating products to the highest technical standards from their purpose-built facility.
As QA Technician, you will record daily all information concerning quality control on the packing lines and raw material inspections and identify any problem areas to ensure smooth flow of production.
You will visually inspect and quality control raw materials and packaging to agreed specifications, record results on relevant inspection report sheets, issue pass/hold/reject labels as appropriate, inform the Technical Manager of any non-conformances, carry out pH testing on raw materials and finished products, collect and store products for end of life testing, complete weekly Quality Attribute Sheet for finished products, carry out and record calibration checks on thermometers, pH meters, balances metal detectors and other equipment, ensure all products are being produced to specification & within QAS standards, carry out and record manual weight checks of components and finished products, carry out metal detector procedures, check & record that product labels are correct, carry out GMP & internal audits and train production staff in relevant technical procedures.
To be considered for the QA Technician role, you will either have similar QA / technical experience from within food manufacturing OR be educated to a degree level within a food science/technology discipline and looking for your first role within the food industry. You will ideally be familiar with GMP, internal audits and QMS systems and any experience of working with chilled, high care products is also an advantage.
The QA Technician job is based in the South Central / Home Counties region and is paying £17,000. The working hours are 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, however the flexibility to work occasional weekends is required.
