The Company

Our client is an established food business bringing a wide range of innovative products to consumers across the UK through their broad retail customer base. They are now looking for a new Development Chef to help with NPD projects and keep their portfolio fresh, exciting and in line with the latest trends.

The Role

In this dynamic role you’ll be supporting this vibrant innovations team in the development of new products and range extensions for prestigious customers. You’ll be given the chance to really apply your creative culinary skills and food knowledge to come up with new recipes that are ahead of the latest trends. You’ll also be researching new products and seasonal ingredients in the market, finding out what really gets consumers going and brainstorming ideas with NPD Chefs and Technologists to give your products that competitive edge. In addition you’ll be preparing dishes and samples for taste panels and presentations, impressing customers with your culinary delights whilst developing your commercial awareness to ensure new products satisfy customer briefs to make an impact in the market place.

The Person

Previous experience as a Development Chef within food manufacturing is essential, and most importantly you will have excellent culinary skills, a passion for food and an understanding of up and coming market trends. You'll have a natural ability to build relationships with your customers and enthuse them with your knowledge, food values and inspirational ideas. As well as being personable, charismatic and forward thinking, you must also have impeccable presentation and project management skills to really excel in this dynamic role.
