Regulatory Affairs Advisor

Location - Hertfordshire area

Salary - £28K - £33K

Ashbury Labelling provides support and advice to leading retailers to ensure that their products are compliant with food legislation and establish brand standards.  Ashbury focuses on working in partnership with their clients and shares knowledge and expertise which continually delivers to the highest standards.  We are currently recruiting for an Advisor to join our team onsite at Tesco Head Office in Welwyn Garden City.

Job Overview:

Responsible for providing expert regulatory advice to the business and to clients. Helping to ensure all specifications, pack copies and artworks are legally compliant and meet our clients’ corporate labelling guidelines. You will also be involved in delivering training on regulatory topics and client codes of practice as well as other compliance projects, including answering ad-hoc regulatory enquiries relating to food from farm to fork, labelling, composition and marketing. The role will involve attendance at client sites for regulatory meetings, keeping abreast of regulatory affairs and demonstrating both commercial and market awareness in support of clients.

Skill Set Required:

  • Food Science or similar degree, or a Food Law/Trading Standards qualification
  • Excellent knowledge of EU and UK food legislation.
  • Experience of a regulatory role within the food industry.
  • Ability to interpret complex food legislation.
  • Understanding of the food retail and food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong IT skills.
