You will be working for a leading business which supplies to both the major retailers and the food service industry. Under the direction of the Technical Director, you will operate as the contact point for all technical matters. You will actively contribute to the technical development of the business as part of the technical management team ensuring that all customer and internal communication is managed and provided in agreed timescales and to the correct standards.
You will support the commercial team in managing customer accounts, provide expert advice on all technical/food safety aspects of products, ensure that all products meet safety, quality, legal and customer requirements, maintain, review and implement complaint reduction plans, implement the site HACCP systems, lead the management and training of the site technical/QA team and provide technical expertise and leadership during customer visits/audits.
You will be educated to a degree level in a food / agronomic discipline and hold a strong track record of working in quality / technical roles within the food manufacturing industry; experience of fresh produce, chilled, high care products is highly desirable. You will have experience working directly with major retailers (ideally Sainsbury’s) with a sound knowledge of their requirements and standards. A flexible approach to working hours is required to meet the needs of the business and frequent travel will also be required.
The Technical Manager job is based in the Central Scotland region and is paying c. £38,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.
