Manufacturing desserts under both own label and branded for almost 50 years, the company has an enviable portfolio of blue chip customers within the UK and overseas, and a reputation for innovative and high quality products. The Production Manager position provides the opportunity for a new member to lead, manage and develop the production personnel and processes in a modern purpose built facility.

The Job

Your ongoing objective as Production Manager will be to optimise the production operation to ensure the delivery of the company’s KPI’s in line with the overall company strategy.

Operating in a high care environment to BRC Grade A standards you will be challenged to continually improve the operating performance by developing and implementing plans for reducing operating costs and improving productivity, while maintaining product and operating standards.

With continual product development supporting the business you will be required to work closely with all departments to ensure that all new products and processes are fully integrated into the production operations.

The Production Manager is a leader of personnel and as such will be required to lead, motivate and develop the production team while balancing workloads, planning projects and ensuring that all health and safety and other regulations are complied with.

Your experience

You should be a proven leader with a solid background in food production, preferably where component manufacture and “assembly” is involved. Your track record should show an ability to manage complexity, develop and coach teams of production personnel and to achieve success in a manufacturing environment. This should be complimented by excellent planning and communication skills, potentially supported by experience in lean and other manufacturing techniques.
