The Role

Reporting to the Senior Product Manager you will be managing the development of delicious products and leading the NPD pipeline for outstanding new additions to existing ranges that will fill up hungry tums across the whole country. You’ll help communicate and deliver the NPD strategy as you project manage from concept to launch, assessing ways to drive growth and innovation which unlock new opportunities in line with emerging trends as well as food safety standards. Supporting product propositions encompassing concept ideation through to marketing campaigns, you’ll apply category management principles, in-depth customer insight and consumer understanding to effectively manage the product portfolio in alignment with brand plans and values. Persuasively presenting to and influencing your customers and colleagues, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of their requirements through solutions which also meet business objectives and product margins.

Working cross functionally with Sales, Marketing and Operational teams you’ll be drumming up enthusiasm for products that embody consumer trends, nutritional needs and manufacturing capabilities, providing recommendations regarding new line launches or de-listings where needed. You’ll also liaise with Technical and Quality teams in the design and implementation of product packaging to ensure brand standards and food safety requirements are met across the entire range.  Finally in collaboration with senior management peers you will be responsible for budgets which you will agree, monitor and control for key projects. You’ll also be helping with team development, providing opportunities to help unlock their full potential and continually improve the organisation.

The Person

Knowledgeable and passionate about food, your strong communication skills render you highly interpersonal with a confident and effective managerial stance, enabling you to lead by example and rally a team to work together. Perpetually positive you’ll be able to provide solutions when faced with obstacles and will remain calm and organised when under pressure, prioritising effectively whilst paying close attention to the details. Importantly you will have a proven track record in branded and own label NPD management and will also be degree educated or equivalent in a food related discipline. Finally you will be commercially astute and numerate with a desire to learn and develop both yourself and your team.
