The purpose of the Specification Technologist is to provide skilled technical support to the NPD, process and quality functions by developing, approving and maintaining product specifications. You will ensure information contained is consistent with source data (e.g. raw material data, factory recipes/specs, etc.) and compliant with customer requirements, relevant legislation and group policy.
You will complete specifications in accordance with customer protocols, ensure all data and/or claims can be supported and are validated against customer requirements, legislation, group policy or third-party protocols, generate technical information required for product packaging, manage artwork approval and also ensure that raw material specifications are risk assessed from a food safety perspective and technically approved prior to being introduced to the manufacturing environment.
To be considered for the Specification Technologist job, you will possess good technical food industry experience, be proficient in the use of MS office tools and retailer web based portals. You will also possess a good understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, key elements of the product launch process and food labelling legislation. You will also have sound written, numerical and verbal skills and the ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
The Specification Technologist job is based in the Lincolnshire / East Anglia region and is paying £27,000. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm.
