Position Overview

This is key customer facing role that will require the individual to be able to work quickly, accurately and to very tight deadlines to ensure the overall success of the Commercial Strategy for the Cake Academy

This role will be involved in the following key areas:

  • Customer responsibilities:
    • New customer acquisition:
      • On-line
      • Food Service/ retail
      • Supporting any direct sales operation
    • Liaising and managing customer feedback
    • Customer commercial analysis, proposal development
    • Creation and delivery of customer reporting requirements
    • Managing customer profitability
  • Direct TCA Marketing (New Customers):
    • Development and management of sales and marketing plans
    • Creation and distribution of appropriate marketing material
    • Leads acquisition and chasing up
  • Sales and Operations Planning:
    • Manage daily customer commercial requirements
    • Weekly and period sales forecasts and S&OP meeting to review
  • NPD Support
    • Liaising both internally and externally on reporting requirements:
      • Gap analysis
      • Price and competition monitoring

Liaising with operations and finance to agree new product costings


Key Accountabilities

Identification and acquisition of new customers in line with the agreed business strategy

Responsible for all commercial account administration

Manage all commercial supplier relationships

Assist in the setting and then delivery of the commercial agenda

Developing and implementing the consumer and trade marketing plans

Responsible for customer market reviews and recommendations

Liaise with Finance and Commercial to provide regular reports where required

Drive and manage overall with customers and the site team the design and delivery of NPD plan

Key Performance Indicators

Sales plan and standard margin delivery KPI’s and plan

Sales forecast accuracy

Customer feedback

Website key performance KPI’s (to be finalized are met on a weekly basis)

Ensuring impacted key internal KPI’s (to be finalized are met on a weekly basis)

Product development plan KPI’s and critical paths in line with customer expectations

NPD plan critical path adherence

Understand and can talk about customers and the competition

Knowledge, & Specific job Skills

Ideally outgoing yet Calm, confident and positive personality with a make it happen attitude

Ability to be flexible in approach to tackle the many different challenges of working with a diverse customer set

Experience of Food Service/ Café trade would be a positive advantage

Experience of working for with larger UK food retailers would be a positive advantage

Interested in the cake market
