Chilled food manufacturing is essential



Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Operations to join our client, a well-known food manufacturer based in Leicestershire. You will have excellent communication and leaderships skills. As a ‘people person’ you will manage, develop and show support to your teams .You will be KPI focused based on safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery and people development.


Job Responsibilities:


Ensuring that KPI’s are achieved and maintained and that optimum performance is achieved in regards to production efficiencies, people, quality and profitability through a continuous improvement approach.
To negotiate with Suppliers ensuring high quality standards are achieved and maintained.
Be financially perceptive with the ability to report and present to the Senior Management Team on costs, products, yields, labour efficiencies and wastage.
Introduce, develop and manage appropriate measures and interventions to ensure that the manufacturing units targets are achieved and exceeded.
To project manage and take the production lead on new product launches, customer/technical visits and audits. Ensuring that Company, customer and legislative product quality and safety standards are achieved.
Ensure a safe working environment by taking a pro-active stance towards health & safety issues.

Experience:

Previous Senior Management experience within a chilled food environment.
Excellent planning, budget, negotiation and organisational skills.
Financial and commercial awareness with a strong commitment towards quality and customer service.
A resilient, credible leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
The ability to operate in a methodical, logical manner, working well under pressure and able to make excellent judgement calls whilst in a fast paced environment.
Reliable and conscientious with the ability to work flexibly in line with business needs.
The ability to champion the Company values and culture of People, Quality, Profit.
A Management or Business qualification.
Computer literate & conversant in the use of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel and Word.
Experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques or six sigma would be an advantage
