Customer Innovation Manager Dairy


This is a position handled in cooperation with our Dutch partner DUPP.  Customer Innovation Manager Dairy (Technical Manager who strives for finding solutions and opportunities)   


AAK ( is the world's leading producer of value adding vegetable oil solutions in close collaboration with its customers. AAK is specialised in specific customer applications with a high level of technological support. The company, with HQ in Malm√∂ (Sweden), has more than 2,500 employees worldwide, manufacturing facilities in seven different countries and a global sales and distribution network. AAK has a strong portfolio of international and well-established client relationships with several of the most renowned players in the food industry. One of the manufacturing facilities is located in Zaandijk and has approximately 100 employees, another location is situated in Merksem (north of Antwerp). The Dairy Business Unit is responsible for developing AAK's business growth together with regional offices around the world. For the AAK organisation in Western Europe, either in Zaandijk or Merksem, we are currently searching for a highly motivated Customer Innovation Manager Dairy.   


  • Responsible for mainly Western European markets as the technical specialist in the value adding vegetable fat based solutions to the dairy industry, like whippable toppings, cheese, butter blends and ice cream fats 
  • Initiating and driving technical customer projects for the development of new, tailor made products and applications as well as optimising existing products and applications in line with the latest scientific and market developments 
  • Supporting AAK's customers by providing technical advice on processes, recipes and validating product specifications 
  • Acting as the liason between AAK's customers and internal departments, i.e. production, planning, QA, and sales 
  • Organising technical seminars for customers and providing training to internal colleagues 
  • Working closely together with global and regional colleagues from Sales and Technical, visiting customers and representing AAK at trade-fairs 
  • Reporting to the Head of Customer Innovation. 


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or equivalent 
  • Several years of relevant experience within a food company, preferably in the field of dairy and related to NPD, processing and applications 
  • Good technical knowledge of (dairy) food ingredients and their applications in relation to current market developments and demands. Knowledge of (vegetable) fats and oils is a strong advantage 
  • Comfortable working in an international business environment, including frequent travel up to approx. 50%, to customers in Western Europe and to AAK's Dairy Customer Innovation Center in Karlshamn, Sweden 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English and preferable in Dutch or another European language, such as German or French 
  • Personal skills: enthusiastic, proactive, customer- and service-oriented, structured, to the point, flexible attitude and ownership
