Due to continued growth and expansion, our client, SALSA, the food safety certification scheme for the UK's smaller producers, is recruiting a competent general manager with a background in food safety management systems with an understanding the principles of standards and compliance. Operating from a pleasant rural North Oxfordshire business centre conveniently located close to the M40, SALSA has enjoyed continued growth and expansion since its launch in 2007.
Candidates should have a clear vision for future third-party certification needs of food producers, buyers and sellers in both retail and foodservice sectors.
With an affinity for the needs of micro- and small food producers in tune with the demands of stakeholders large and small, you will lead an established team to develop an already successful certification scheme to the next level and beyond to meet its true potential in supporting the resurgent UK food industry.
Many of the most exciting and genuinely innovative food products come from the start-up and local food businesses. Entrepreneurs often have great ideas but more often, lack the knowledge or experience in modern standards for safe and consistent food production.
