Junior Pricing Analyst - Salary to £25,000 pa

The Company

A market leading Food Processing business has created a new permanent role for a Junior Pricing Analyst to work within the Commercial team at their site in North London.

The Role

As a large food manufacturer, supplying a range of high value foods, it is important that pricing and margin is accurate. It will be the Junior Pricing Analyst`s responsibility to ensure both consistency and appropriate margin is achieved on a range of different food products. There will also be a requirement to enhance the current methods used to price products and review and improve rebate schemes.

The individual appointed will liaise with the MD, Supply Chain, Operations and Data Team and utilise all possible tools to ensure accuracy of cost/buy price, and correct profit margin on each product. The Junior Pricing Analyst will develop a margin alert system, to drive action towards correcting any price variances that may lower margin. They will have the ability and commercial acumen to control pricing margins and this will involve producing reports showing pricing/margin and any variance.

The jobholder will apply an analytical approach, reviewing spreadsheets to check for variance and working with suppliers, buyers and the supply chain team to continually improve performance in terms of price and margin. There will be a further requirement to review pricing models for individual customers applying a fair price whilst maximising margin.

The Person

Applicants should have a Degree in a relevant subject such as Business, Economics, Science, Finance, Mathematics, and some level of experience within the following areas would be an advantage: manufacturing, food, media, business information, business intelligence, telecomms, foreign exchange, commodities, fmcg, supply chain or distribution.

Attention to detail, a logical approach and the confidence to develop new pricing and promotion analysis tools is also required. This role may appeal to a 'data specialist' with good IT skills. An Excel test will form part of the interview process, so good skills in Excel are required. Ref 1809

The Salary is for this role is £22k pa to £25k pa depending on experience.
