This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a global organisation, manufacturing instantly recognisable products for the foodservice sector.

The role of Food Safety & Quality Manager (FSQ Manager) will oversee two manufacturing sites, within one of the most instantly recognisable food brands globally. Manufacturing products specifically for the foodservice and QSR sectors this site has undergone a transition period over the last few years and is now part of the fastest growing division of the group. Investment has been made in the form of new processing equipment and a spotlight is really on this site now from the wider group.

This business now requires an FSQ Manager to join the company and oversee a team of approximately 14 people in the Technical function. This would be made up of QC's, Lab team members and a Quality Systems Manager. The role will ensure the full compliance with legal standards for food safety and quality; support the implementation of new standards and CI plans; increase effectiveness of the quality assurance system and be a point of contact for the wider European group. In essence, this role will ensure that product quality is consistently 'right first time'.

Areas for focus:

  • Driving strategy around site quality standards
  • Ensuring suppliers are complying with required policies
  • Identify and deliver on quality improvement opportunities
  • Train new team members on Quality Management System requirements
  • Oversee HACCP for the site
  • Work with NPD to validate new products
  • Verify and validate customer complaints
  • Develop a strong organisational structure

This is a key site which has undergone a lot of change in recent years; as such it requires an energetic and enthusiastic Technical professional to reshape the team, if necessary. You will be driving improvements across the site and so must be able to communicate with people at all levels. You must be experienced in the food industry with a good depth of knowledge around Quality Management Systems, HACCP, BRC, ISO etc. and be systematic in your approach.
