Up to £60k + Significant Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits

Part of a £multi million group our client are manufacturers of some of the UK`s most recognisable household brands. As market leaders in a number of the categories they operate in,  they have grown due to their ability to understand both consumer and customer requirements through there on going investment in category marketing support. Due to continued investment our client is now seeking an exceptional Trade Marketing Manager to work across a number of core customers within the grocery retail sector taking responsibility for driving the Category growth strategy and defining the businesses go-to-market strategy.

The Role:

- Develop and execute effective strategies based on Global Success Models and an understanding of customers, categories and consumers to maximise profitability
- Full responsibility for all their customer channels tasked with analyzing data and developing and implementing key Trade strategy, evaluating performance, understanding current trends and identifying clear opportunities in the market in order to make key profitable recommendations that will deliver innovative business growth.

- Develop short and long term category strategies based on a thorough understanding of market conditions and trends
- Lead annual category planning and review processes 
- Build effective gap analysis and work with Sales and Customer Marketing teams to develop/agree clear, specific plans for corrective action.
- Champion new product market entry and execution.  Includes development of sales presentation/ materials and tracking systems.
- You will be expected to own and drive this brand…with a true opportunity to create and drive change

The Person

- Graduate calibre with sales / marketing / data or retail management background, with strong category management experience within FMCG
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and good understanding of Customer Management Process.
- Confident of communicating and influencing at all levels of the organisation
- You will have a passion for achievement; strong negotiating/influencing skills, integrity and drive with a strong desire to make things happen.
- Strong knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI, Spectra, Panel Data, A&Us)
- Advanced usage of Excel, PowerPoint, Nitro (or equivalent; and basic Spaceman (or equivalent)
- Strong oral,  written communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to analyse large volumes of complex information, interpret & construct straightforward plans

You will ideally have already gained Trade Marketing / Category insight experience within the food and grocery / FMCG market. Branded experience would be an advantage but is not essential however what is, is your understanding of working with different forms of data. You will have strong inter personal skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to develop and improve the commercial focus, customer profitability and overall performance of the business. An understanding of customer Range Reviews would also be an advantage.

You will also have excellent influencing skills coupled with a high degree of confidence in presenting both internally and externally.
