Factory Manager (Production focus) Salary to £40,000 pa

The Company

This business is a well-established food manufacturer with a great reputation for supplying high quality products to a range of customers. An opportunity is available for an individual to join them as Factory Manager and oversee activities at an expanding site.

The Role

This is a production focused Factory Management role, with day to day management of a busy food factory where the key objective is to use available resources to deliver the production plan in an efficient manner, optimising plant, labour and materials to minimise unit cost.

This role may appeal to a Production Manager who has previously worked in an autonomous role and is seeking a step up to full Factory Management status, or an experienced Factory Manager seeking to manage a fairly ‘straight forward` and modern facility. The Factory Manager will manage the Labour and Consumables budgets within agreed financial parameters and manage site personnel consisting of: Production, Hygiene, Warehouse, Engineering, Logistics departments.

The Factory Manager appointed will give direction to staff, be a strong but fair manager, and apply an inclusive and consultative management style. Applicants should be decisive, with the conviction to make quick decisions and back their judgement. There will be a requirement to review staff performance and conduct staff appraisals and give clear direction to staff whilst delegating and managing through others.

The Manager appointed will project manage site expansion plans and negotiation the provision of a range of site services with local contractors. There will be a requirement to maintain Hygiene standards and review quality systems and operating procedures to see if improvements can be introduced. The Factory Manager will report into company directors regarding site performance including production output achieved and efficiency gains.

The Person

We are looking to hear from Operations Manager or Factory Managers with experience gained from within high-speed Food/FMCG manufacturing. Some experience of introducing lean manufacturing and co-ordinating CI initiatives would assist. An understanding of relevant quality accreditations such as BRC / IFS is expected, as is previous budgetary responsibility. Ref 1229a

The Salary for the role is circa £37,000 pa to £40,000 pa. Typical hours of work will be Days Monday to Friday with some flexibility required.

This role is commutable from: Chester, Mold, Flintshire, Cheshire, North Wales, Ellesmere Port, Corwen, Deeside, Shropshire, Crewe, Wrexham, Whitchurch, Oswestry, Market Drayton, Nantwich
