We are recruiting for an internationally established academic institution whose reputation for quality teaching in the food arena is well-known. With new investment for their Postgraduate study programmes they are looking for an Associate Professor in Food Process Engineering.

The Role

The University is looking to appoint an Associate Professor in Food Process Engineering to develop, nurture and grow a new Master’s level programme in Food Process Engineering, the role will be varied. Using your food industry familiarity you will be promoting the new programme to ensure the best and brightest students are attracted and choose this university above others for their educational needs and requirements. Raising awareness and boosting the profile of the department you will develop links to the global food industry ensuring high quality teaching and learning at postgraduate level. Drawing upon your own first-hand knowledge and extensive experience in food processing you will ensure projects are safely completed and that course content is successfully equipping students for the modern food processing landscape. With training and support from the department you will also be leading a team of staff to guarantee that programmes are correctly administered and that your breadth of industry knowledge is being utilised to enrich the job prospects of future graduates.  

The Person

You will have a catalogue of experience in the food processing industry gained from a work setting. You may currently be working as a chartered Engineer or Scientist, or perhaps will come from an R&D or technical background with significant food process experience and strong commercial acumen.

You will of course have fantastic communication and leadership skills with the ability to project manage and guide others to map and grow the programme through to completion, with evidence of successful team work and management of complex tasks. If you can show you have mentored and trained others in industry it would also be extremely beneficial.
