The purpose of the Technical Manager role is to manage and monitor the company's quality systems to ensure maintenance of the HACCP and BRC status. You will ensure the safety, legality and quality of all products, lead all site audits including internal, customer, BRC and HACCP, ensure hygiene practices within all areas are adequate, support production to actively maintain technical standards, undertake routine verifications of the factory systems including calibrations of instruments, deal with all non-conformances and put corrective actions in place, ensure that raw materials and packaging material for the site are released in a timely manner, investigating and responding to customer complaints plus have full responsibility for approval of all technical pack copy including ingredients lists, nutritional data, allergen declaration, front of pack claims etc.
We are looking for an individual with a solid quality / technical track record within food manufacturing, ideally from the frozen background. You will have strong working knowledge of BRC accreditation version 7, HACCP, GMP and quality hygiene auditing together with experience of writing pack copies artwork sign off, labelling legislation and QUID. A degree within a food science or technology discipline is highly desirable.
The Technical Manager job is based in the South Coast UK region is paying up to £35,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are 9am – 5pm, however flexibility is required.
This is a 12 month, fixed term contract.
