Product Development Chef - Norfolk - To £35K

Overall Purpose/Objectives of Role:
To build effective external and internal business relationships, and develop new products that ensures that the Company are first choice for frozen and convenience in all sectors.

The role requires the development of product ranges within all sectors whilst also monitoring the quality of the existing product range to ensure that products continue to benchmark ahead against the competition. There is the expectation this role will work with commercial colleagues when needed to drive the growth of the Company across all sectors

The role:
·Manage the relationship with customers New Product Development teams.
·Regularly review the market place and trade press including Social Media to increase awareness of current and upcoming food trends and products to develop leading edge convenience and meat free propositions for customers.
·Utilise all available market data including Kantar and Dunnhumby to further justify why customers should launch the new products that have been developed
·Regularly develop new products based briefs and also blue sky ideas using the companys facilities.
·Work with factories across Europe to fully utilize our production capabilities to deliver product innovation in the UK. This will involve regular trips to Belgium to develop new lines from the factory in Belgium
·Conduct regular internal benchmarking sessions of current product and keep records of these meetings to allow the monitoring of any trends.
·Validation and verification work on all new lines
·Attend all customer NPD submissions
·Work closely with Technical Teams to ensure the requirements of customer finished product specifications are met.

Key Outputs:

To support the Sales Manager and deliver the following outputs:
·Regular contact with all customers to ensure the company is viewed as the market leader in innovation.
·Regularly develop new products that both meet and exceed customers' expectations.
·Produce presentations on market and food trends.
·Production of benchmarking results from internal and external sessions and drive any changes required following these results.
·Production of any samples required by customers.
·Preparing and Cooking of all products required at any customer presentations.
·Completion of all recipes for costings


Job Related Experience / Skills
·Relevant Product Development experience
·Working to deadlines, workload planning and multi-tasking
·Project Management Experience
·Experience of Process development and understanding of how to upscale kitchen samples to factory productions
·Experience of using the full MS Office suite.
·Experience in product costings and an understanding of how to achieve desired products at the correct price
