Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Bedfordshire - To £38,000
This is a great opportunity to join this food production business as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. The key function of this role is to ensure the efficient upkeep of machinery within production. They offer varied shifts including earlies and lates and a 4on/4off shift pattern.
·To provide full multi skilled maintenance engineering support to the site Production team(s) to ensure that operational targets are met.
·Carry out fault diagnosis and repair of a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems.
·To co-operate with the production/technical teams to resolve engineering issues in a controlled/logical and professional manner.
·To proactively and methodically diagnose machine and system faults on production equipment and resolve issues in the most expedient and cost effective manner.
·To report where appropriate, the findings of any machinery/process problems to the Engineering Management team.
·To ensure all activities are recorded correctly and accurately on the relevant documentation and systems (Handover Reports, Shift Reports and Work Orders etc.)
Education & Qualifications
·Apprenticeship qualification desirable coupled with HNC /ONC or C&G in both Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
·A proven track record in engineering with strong electrical and/ or mechanical skills
·Must be capable of creative/logical problem solving/breakdown and root cause analysis and rectification
·Ability to appropriately manage tasks and priorities whilst under pressure, whilst never compromising safety or product quality
·Ability to carry out specific tasks with minimum of supervision
·An effective communicator with strong oral and written communication abilities, used to working with a culturally diverse workforce
·Must have the ability to induct Contractors into the working environment safely and effectively
*Proven engineering maintenance experience ideally gained within a food high speed/volume production environment;
*Proven experience of mechanical, electrical, PLC's and an understanding of control systems
