Development Chef - the Role
The successful Development Chef will play a critical role supporting the NPD team in a very fast paced environment through idea generation and development of new products. You will help generate new business in existing and emerging categories through creative and innovative thinking, creating exciting products for our categories – delivering new and interesting ideas, new ranges whilst tweaking products to reflect changes in the market, ingredients or costs.
Development Chef – the Successful Individual
To be successful in the role, you will have the following required skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications;
- Passion for food is absolutely essential, with a broad knowledge of food ingredients and flavour pairings
- Commercial NPD and chilled product development experience gained within chilled food manufacturing is essential
- Understanding of the retail with experience in setting up recipes
- Computer Literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Food Hygiene and NVQ/City & Guilds Culinary expertise is essential
- A good understanding of kitchen housekeeping and health and safety
