The Company

Our client is a successful food business within the chilled arena, working tirelessly to produce consistently high quality, innovative products for major retail and foodservice customers. With their passion for people and delivering industry leading performance, they are now seeking a Supplier Auditor to help uphold their reputation for product care and credibility.

The Role

Reporting to the Lead Auditor you’ll be responsible for the management of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards across the board. Your accountabilities will include:

  • Overseeing supplier approval processes and supplier audit schedules, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and due diligence for the entire product range and resolving day to day issues.
  • Working with suppliers to ensure their products and processes meet customer, company and legislative requirements, investigating and resolving any issues to reduce and eradicate potential complaints or risks.
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure customer specifications and standards are up to date and fully understood, co-ordinating audit programmes and feeding relevant information back to the supply base.
  • Providing technical support on process changes and codes of practice, building relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers to ensure continued confidence in product performance to surpass industry standards.

The Person

We are looking for a Food Science / Microbiology graduate who has gained some strong technical skills and supplier assurance knowledge in a food manufacturing environment, ideally within the chilled or fresh produce sector. You’ll need to have a successful track record of supplier management and approval where you have applied a comprehensive understanding of the technical and legislative requirements of the food industry. You’ll have conducted internal and external audits and will be able to demonstrate how you have implemented corrective measures to improve product quality in line with customer standards. You’ll also have additional qualifications in Food Safety and HACCP; a Lead Auditor certificate would be a distinct advantage, however opportunities for obtaining this qualification will be available.

This role is mostly site based, however as the position involves supplier visits you will need to have a full UK driving licence. There may also be an option to work from home in this varied role, but you will need to be flexible to travel to site meetings and supplier audits.

If you feel you have the skills and experience to take on this new challenge then we’d like to hear from you. Apply now or call 0845 2600 737 to find out more!

Please note that we are only able to accept and respond to applications from candidates with eligibility to work in the UK and those who hold valid work visas.
