This manufacturer of bespoke starters, appetisers and menu components for the food service sector is looking for a General Manager as a result of sustained growth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a new role in the organisation. The focus will be to work with the Managing Director to set and implement strategic objectives for the business and drive performance improvements. You will be responsible for leading, motivating and managing different departments including production, technical, facilities, supply chain, logistics and administration. Key tasks will include introducing new practices to monitor and evaluate processes, to increase profitability and to develop people. You will also be involved in operational improvements and expansion projects.
The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership, management and team building skills. You will have several years experience of working in a food manufacturing business, preferably FMCG and multi component, with cross functional operational knowledge. Your experience will include setting, developing and driving strategy across the organisation, managing multi-functional teams and developing people through coaching, engagement and development plans. As a manager, you are adept at identifying areas for improvement and driving change, including implementation of processes and procedures to monitor and report on performance. Project management experience of new facilities or expansion projects an advantage, as is experience of financial management, budgeting and financial monitoring. Above all you will be a people manager with commercial acumen and excellent communication and planning skills.
