If so, our client is looking to recruit a Development Manager to join their Food Manufacturing business based in Southern Somerset.

Reporting into Head of Development, you will be responsible for delivering product development requirements to one of the major multiples in this customer dedicated site. You will work closely with marketing, buying and technical ensuring all new and existing products are safe, of sound quality and adhere to industry & company standards. Managing a team of developers you will lead, develop and motivate the team, ensuring that the day to day running of the accounts are smooth, as well as working on & delivering the long term strategy.

You will play a pivotal part in understanding culinary trends and ensuring that everyone in the business is as passionate about food & flavours as the NPD team so that the business is market leading in its development.

So what do you need to be able to apply for this job? Previous experience in a chilled food manufacturing business is vital and a passion for all things food is essential. This experience has to be ideally with JS, if not M&S or Waitrose and if you have a degree in a Food Science related subject then that is hugely advantageous. Experience of leading a team as well as a self-starter with excellent customer knowledge and consumer insight, then this could be the job for you.
