Contract Type
Full Time

Our client is a large and very impressive food manufacturing business who are part of a very large international group and have sites around the UK. This role, will be predominantly based in Southwest Scotland, but there may be some flexibility to be based closer to Glasgow. The business deals with a number of farmers in order to procure their raw materials and this role is at the forefront of these relationships. They have some very ambitious growth plans over the next few years and this job is vital in ensuring the business fulfils both their day to day requirements but also their longer term goals.

The Role

Dealing with the farmers and suppliers on a daily basis, ensuring they are clear of your on-going needs. You will be working closely with the site management teams to ensure the forecasts are as accurate as possible. Naturally, it is impossible to get this 100% right, 100% of the time, so you will be required to trade any over- or under-supplies. You will need to ensure that there are firm contracts in place for the supply that is agreed as well. As the Supply/Purchasing Manager, you will be required to travel to the various UK based sites on a regular basis as well.

The Candidate

Ideally, you will have a background of buying products direct from farmers (ideally livestock, but produce/arable experience will be considered as well) and you won't be afraid to trade as required. The ability to analyse data and forecast accurately as a result, will prove invaluable to you. You may also be required to get involved in project work as well, so any prior experience of this will be useful as well.

This is a great business and a real opportunity to get in at an exciting time. We take confidentiality very seriously at MorePeople, so your CV is in the very best of hands with us.
