A leading FMCG Manufacturer is currently seeking a Technical Manager to join the senior leadership team. Reporting into the MD you will manage, develop and lead the site Technical Team to effectively deliver an operationally excellent factory.

Technical Manager responsibilities include:

Manage, develop and lead the Technical team

Lead and develop an efficient and effective Technical Services support operation for manufacturing in line with the site plan and key business performance indicators.

Comply with company and legal standards (safety, hygiene, and environment).

Contribute to the development and implementation of the site strategy and plans.

Create and deliver the Technical Services strategy and plans and use team to ensure continuous improvement activity is in place to drive year on year improvements

Demonstrate visible leadership for the team.

Create an empowering culture and develop a plan to improve employee engagement for the Technical Team.

Work with the Technical Team to ensure a culture of continuous improvement becomes commonplace.

Encourage teamwork and a supporting environment in order to improve business performance.

Review Technical Teams competencies and ensure appropriate training and development plans are in place to meet both individual and business needs.

Review organisation structure and headcount standards, ensuring appropriate succession plans, recruitment and development plans are in place

Ensure total compliance with all applicable corporate and legal standards (personal safety, food safety, quality, hygiene and environment).

Responsibility for site systems compliance (Quality Assurance, Food Safety, hygiene).

Responsibility for managing line trials and new product implementations on site.

Manage Technical stores and consumables to budget.

Ensure a commitment to continuous improvement to make year on year improvements versus plans and targets.

You will be a Technical Manager with a proven track record in strategic and operational leadership within an FMCG Food manufacturing environment. Experience within a high risk, Low risk and laboratory environment will be deemed advantageous.
