We are a private family owned, Yorkshire business with our ‘roots’ firmly in the fresh produce trade. Our organisation is fast-paced, exciting, dynamic and due to rapid successful growth our organisation is seeking a new exciting addition to the prestigious Transport Team, based at our Royds Farm Road Vegetable processing site in Beeston.
The Transport Team are the flagship of our business, carrying our logo and goods across the length and breadth of the UK. They also transport our reputation throughout the UK by being known as some of the safest Drivers. They are the epitome of class and diligence. They drive safely, have a ‘trailer’ load of experience and know their roads like the back of their hands. They work hard in the best fleet we can find and look after our vehicles. They are a hardworking and friendly team. They are have a knack for delivering our goods to our customers in a courteous, friendly way.
If you have a valid HGV class 1 licence, are able to know the roads of Britain and are passionate for taking care of vehicles products and our customers, then this is the team for you. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation who are pushing the boundaries of innovation in their sector.
In this role you will turn up for work and check your delivery route and goods. You will be required to collect goods form any of our sites in the Leeds vicinity and then set off en-route to our customers. You will be required to deliver products safely in line with procedures and complete all necessary paperwork.
There may be container vessels to collect from our Customers, and you will ensure this is done in line with company protocol and health and safety protocol. You may be required to work nights out, and if you do, there is an added bonus of £22.50 tax free per night you work away from home plus expenses. You will be required to also undertake shunting duties between our three sites, delivering stock to site where applicable and needed.
You will attend CPC training to keep your CPC licence up to date, and strive for the highest standards of Driver safety.
You will report into the Transport Manager / Assistant Transport Manager and there is plenty of opportunity and scope to develop and move into other roles within the business. You will have a sense of humour, be hard working and passionate about Driving. Hours of Work
Shift work. Shifts can commence any time between 0:00 am – 05:00 am and is usually around 10 hours per shift .
Days / Shift Details
Shifts are Sunday to Thursday, with a requirement to take a minimum of 1 night out a week.
- £9.70 for the first 12 months, £10.00 per hour thereafter.
- Time ½ between 00:00 and 04:00.
- £30.00 overtime shift bonus per overtime shift worked.
- Double time Christmas Day / Boxing Day (if worked).
- £30.00 bank holiday bonus if worked.
- £15 Night shift allowance if worked past 4am per night.
- Hourly weekly paid.
- Half hour for lunch paid. Two 15 minute breaks paid.
28 days holiday per year including bank holidays (10 hour days)
1% pension after 3 months.
6 month probationary period
Contracts are an average of 45 hours per week over 52 weeks.
