The Role

In this pivotal technical management role you’ll be driving product quality through the strategic management of the supplier base, monitoring performance and coordinating audit programmes to ensure all suppliers adhere to agreed specifications in line with company policies. Reporting to the Technical Director you’ll respond to any issues or incidents regarding the quality, safety and legality of product ranges, acting as the brand guardian and reviewing critical control points to guarantee a consistently high standard for your customers. You’ll also conduct supplier visits and unannounced audits to ensure optimum product performance levels at all times, working closely with internal teams to undertake finished product reviews, reduce customer complaints and help this food company maintain their position as a trusted supplier of quality products.

The Person

We are looking for a motivated Technical enthusiast with a food science or related degree who has worked with a wide supply base and gained extensive auditing experience. Ideally you will have worked with a range of food manufacturing sites and have an insight into different categories. Previous experience of BRC is essential, and Lead Auditor qualifications would also be extremely advantageous. To succeed in this role you must have first class organisation, project management and communication skills and you’ll have a proven track record of building, developing and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external colleagues at all management levels. A high level of computer literacy and a robust understanding of quality systems is essential along with the ability to work effectively within a team as well as on your own initiative.
