As Engineering Technician, you will be tasked with the maintenance, reactive breakdowns, fault finding and continuously improving plant performance, quality and safety. You will be tasked with moving a specific area forward using good manufacturing and engineering practices. Your key responsibilities will include acting as an engineering expert to input into team action plans & continuous improvement activities, ensure the mechanical and electrical integrity of equipment, effective PPM inspections, overhaul & repair of plant, support the development of team member’s basic engineering skills, complete stores requisitions for parts and contract services and continually monitor plant conditions and report defects. You will deliver a consistent and improving plant reliability through the effective management and monitoring of downtime, PPM conformance, engineering planning, use of SAP PM and elements of the engineering budget.
We would like to hear from dynamic individuals who have a formal engineering qualification to at least city and guilds level in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline plus be fully multi skilled with both electrical and mechanical experience gained within a fast paced manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing experience would be preferred however we will consider candidates from drinks, packaging and pharmaceutical industries.
The Engineering Technician job is based in the East Midlands region and is paying c. £36,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The shift pattern will consist of double day shifts plus 1 week in every 10 of night shifts.
