Bennett Potatoes supplies a wide variety of potatoes in differing sizes to the catering, wholesale and export markets as well as providing fresh pack for retailers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, and having responsibility for the recruitment, development and management of the QA Auditing team, you will assume full responsibility for all technical aspects of factory production and its environment, ensuring that all product meets Customer and Legal requirements.  You will be ensuring that all quality controls, in respect of raw materials, process flow, finished products, materials, packaging, hygiene and environmental matters are strictly adhered to.  You should be able to demonstrate a proven record of establishing and maintaining relationships with Customers, external contacts and management colleagues. The successful applicants will be also responsible for the continued development and improvement of the factory’s Quality Management System, working closely with the factory Production and Maintenance Teams in order to achieve this.

Previous experience in the fresh produce or food industry is essential, as is a good level of education. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 year’s experience in a Quality Assurance Managerial role, and a working knowledge of BRC v7 Standard, HACCP, Food Legislation and Food Hygiene. This role would be an ideal opportunity to develop managerial skills within a small team. A good communicator and a team player with good report and procedural writing skills and proven interpersonal, negotiation and organisational skills, you must demonstrate a logical approach, and will have the ability to use your own initiative, problem solving and decision making skills in order to make things happen.  You will be self-motivated and understand the importance of teamwork. Experience in using Microsoft packages is essential.
