This is your chance to work as a Product Manager for one of the largest fresh produce companies in the world. Do you know how to tell if a Pineapple is perfect? A banana is at its best? A pear is past it? Well, we need someone who really cares about their products to take on this job and keep their stock at the best quality they can.

The Role

You will operate in accordance with the company's policies, the Quality Management System and its procedures as well as customer oriented processes. All in keeping with the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP.)
You will provide support in the training & development of product knowledge within the Quality Auditing (QA) team.
You will understand differing customer's specifications and ensure that food safety, supplier approval and quality compliance is achieved at all times.
You will take ownership of and manage the lifespan and quality of assigned products.
You will maintain and comply to the companies Health and Safety policy.
Support the maintenance and implementation of all agreed corrective, preventative action and root cause analysis of customer rejections/issues.
You will make sure that your assigned products are stored within the correct temperature, environments and regimes.
You will advise the Commercial & Technical teams on best usage/yield & best quality fit for allocation of products for specific customers.
Provide support in the management of the dwell time of products and pursue allocation/usage of "distressed" stock.
Ensure accurate product segregation during packing operations to reduce waste and reject rates.

The Candidate

You will have excellent communication abilities and be happy to talk to anyone from all works of life - this job may involve site visits so you will be communicating to a range of different people face-to-face, via email and by phone regularly.
You'll be confident when it comes to managing a team and training them up so that they're self-reliant and always giving their best.
Ideally, you will already be in some sort of QA or QC role and looking for the next step up.
You need to be able to adapt quickly to change and grasp any new responsibility given to you as this is a fast-paced and constantly changing working environment.
Preferably experience in and/or an interest and knowledge of the fresh produce industry.
