CI Coordinator, Food Manufacturing, Norfolk
A market-leading, branded food manufacturing company is looking to add a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to is team in the Norfolk area.
The purpose of this role is to lead Continuous Improvement projects, within this food manufacturer, to minimise losses in the manufacturing and packaging processes. Reporting into the Department Manager for the packaging area you will look at projects to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), product quality as well as other targeted areas of the business.
It is key for this role to be technically proficient with manufacturing equipment to get up to speed quickly with the processes that are in place. The structure is already in place for CI in the business with the role holder focusing on team engagement with the CI agenda; influencing and leading them to achieve the desired results. The key measure for the role is to ensure improvements take hold and do not revert to previous levels once focus has moved onto new projects.
- Creating plans to deliver loss reductions
- Define types of projects required to reduce losses
- Create models to measure and record losses accurately
- Coach the team through methodologies to develop their understanding
- Support performance control system
- Work closely with Engineering team on non-reactive engineering requirements
This role could suit someone with an existing background in CI/Lean manufacturing with qualifications such as Six Sigma or someone with a strong production/engineering background who has experience of working on improvement projects.
Strong man-management skills are essential with the ability to lead and influence a team. You will have a logical and analytical approach to problem-solving with previous project management experience. Understanding of process engineering is an advantage.
