We are a well-established producer and supplier of premium recipe dishes to both the retail and foodservice sector. Operating from two production sites and predominantly operating in the chilled sector we also have an established and growing ambient business. Under its current ownership since 2012, the business has an aggressive growth agenda and has been investing in commercial and product development to deliver this. As part of our commitment to continuously improving operating standards within our production facilities, and following new business gains we have created a number of new management roles across our business and in particular we are now looking for Production Mangers for both of our sites.
This role is the senior management role on site and is responsible for the safe, smooth and efficient running of the site. The role reports through to the Board Director responsible for operations.
The primary accountability is to ensure the Factory operates in line with the Joubere philosophy and operational priority Framework;
A key element of the role will be to drive the continuous improvement agenda across all aspects of manufacturing; Safety, Quality, Waste reduction, Production efficiency etc. Crucially this can only be delivered by the people on site so a very strong focus on people development, training and management is required.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in chilled food manufacturing, ideally with further experience in ambient food production. This is a role for a proven leader who can set clear goals and targets for their team, communicate them effectively (even in the face of language barriers) and measure their delivery. Most important of all is cultural fit as you will be the biggest influence on the operating culture of the site. If you can see yourself running a site where you are driving a ‘lean production’ agenda in a safe and supportive environment operating to the highest standards of quality regardless of how busy the site may be then this might be the role for you.
Experience with and qualifications in ‘Lean’, ‘Six sigma’ or anything else will be of interest only if they are meaningful and implemented pragmatically. This is not a role for a Jargon Junkie. This is a role for a leader who can select the right tool for the job and knows how to deliver.
