Production Line Leader (Machine Operator)

Location: Chichester

- 22 shifts holiday per annum

Hours: Fortnightly rotating shift pattern that includes working 12 hour shifts across days/nights & every other weekend

Working conditions: Chilled food production environment

A fast paced challenging role offering a fantastic opportunity to gain further valuable manufacturing experience within our Operations team at our state of the art Merston Manufacturing Site on Chichester Food Park.
If you are looking for a new challenge and keen to continue to develop your personal and professional skills within a fast paced operations team, we want to hear from you. We are looking for experienced Operators with a systematic mind and way of approaching complex tasks. You will be naturally curios about machines and how things work and have previous supervisory experience of leading teams on a production line.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Ensure that team in their area of responsibility are correctly deployed and performing to standards in adherence to the plan, product quality specification, health&safety & food safety standards
  • To ensure the delivery of agreed KPIs
  • Manage performance within line team, including timekeeping, appraisal and performance
  • Ensure that operatives are coached and trained in all aspects of their role, including health and safety and food safety standards and quality control procedures to maintain a cross functional, multi-skilled workforce
  • Fully participate in line improvement activities including waste management & production control processes
  • Participate in NPD processes & production trials
  • Undertake team briefs on a daily basis that focus on key performance measures

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE's Maths & English or equivalent

Experience & behaviours required:

  • A minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience - food experience highly desirable
  • Previous experience of leading and developing teams
  • Resilient and works well under pressure in time sensitive situations
  • Able to multitask whilst maintaining a positive approach
  • Ability to communicate/influence
  • Able to set priorities and focuses on objectives
  • Adjusts plans & schedules in good time to meet changing priorities for themselves & the team
  • Confident, Clear open and concise communication skills,able to work across multifunctional teams
  • Able to make important timely decisions

On the job training: Hands on technical training/shadowing of experienced manufacturing professionals. You will be supported by your assigned buddy for the first 12 weeks of employment and have regular review meetings to support your ongoing development.

  • Food Safety
