Hi, I’m Jo Richardson, Director of Winhurst Recruitment. Working in food & drink manufacturing is incredibly complex, challenging but can also be exhilarating at the same time. Where I differ from other recruiters, is my 10 years of working in chilled food manufacturing as a Commercial Manager. Working in the industry during a time when inflation was unprecedented, promotional strategy changed because of greater consumer demands & expectations, and it was all about taking cost out of the process. This gave me phenomenal insight to this fast paced environment where the products were short shelf life, highly seasonal and heavily promoted.
After a number of years recruiting within the FMCG arena, I have successfully placed with SME’s through to Blue Chip Organisations, but the basic rules of recruiting remain the same. Understand the business, understand the candidate and match skills and cultural fit in equal measures. Each piece of recruitment is unique, each business has different challenges & expectations, and each candidate has different drivers to succeed. Only when the 2 are fully understood and appreciated, will a successful placement occur.
