The Newton Park Campus also provides accommodation for over 800 students, with the development of a new ‘student village’ in 2013.

The previously mentioned Newton Park Campus, along with many other things, is where the Students’ Union is based. The Student Union hosts many social activities, with the main building running a bar, café, gym and shop. There are over 40 interest societies and 20 sports societies within the Union, along with the gym, which has over 30 fitness stations, along with sports pitches around the campus for outdoor activities. The Student Union is run by students, for students, giving everyone the chance to have their say in how their university life pans out.
Along with studies, it is important that students enjoy their social life at university. Along with the many day activities and societies on offer, there are also many clubs and bars around Bath which offers a different side to university life. Although fairly small, there is no doubt that the nightclubs and bars in Bath are always filled with students, unwinding after a day of study. The Students’ Union bar has various weekly events, providing cheap entertainment for all Bath Spa students.
As a city, Bath is accessible and easy for students to get to. Bath Spa railway station has services to several cities in the south of England, including Reading, Cardiff and London Paddington. This gives students plenty of opportunity to visit home or have days out to the surrounding areas. There is also a bus service that runs to the Newton Park campus and the city centre every 15 minutes during term-time making it easy to get to and from the centre of Bath.
