Abertay University is a public university in the City of Dundee, Scotland. The University gained official status in 1994 and is currently home to over 5,000 students. The University prides itself on its multi-award winning Bernard King Library, which meets the needs of all students and groups. Being conveniently situated in the city centre, Abertay University campus is in the perfect location for all students. The main university buildings are located in the Bell Street Complex, surrounding the award winning Bernard King library. Along with the excellent library space, the University has also recently developed ‘White Space’. This area is a unique environment used by students, staff and local businesses. The £2.5 million space is used by a variety of people in multiple ways, whether this is for the Institute of Arts, Media and Computer Games, for tutorials and seminars or for the recording and broadcasting studio, the area has uses for everyone.

The Student Centre building, also situated in Bell Street, provides students with an area to relax, study and socialise. The four-storey building, opened in 2005, houses an art gallery, cinema, a shop and café. The Campus shop, situated on the ground floor, offers a wide selection of lunchtime snacks, frozen food, drinks and stationary, along with university merchandise. The shop gives students an affordable place to go when they need to refresh. Aroma, the student coffee bar, is a place for students to study, relax, or catch up with one another during the day. The Student Centre building also has a sports bar, a more upbeat place for students to go once they have finished their day of studying. The bar has large TV screens, pool tables and often holds evening events such as quiz and karaoke nights.

Sport at Abertay University is big part of many students’ lives. The University has had huge national and international success, with students in all areas of the institution achieving great things. There are currently 18 sports clubs at Abertay University, from football and netball to boxing and water sports. Alongside sports clubs, are the universities societies ran by the Students’ Association.
