We are currently recruiting for a Prep Manager to join us at our Manton Wood "Food to Go" Production Facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager you will ensure the effective and efficient running of own department areas. Responsible for Safety, Hygiene, Quality, Quantity, and Cost (SHQQC).

This position is working days on 12 hour shifts on a shift pattern 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off over a 7 day week.

You will be responsible and accountable for all manufacturing and hygiene activities including control of all staff, materials, adhering to the agreed method for manufacture and quality attributes in order to ensure that orders are met on time and in full with product manufactured to the specified quality, food safety and relevant legislative parameters. You will ensure that sufficient raw materials are available to meet production demands and limit the amount of stock held to ensure all raw materials are used in correct stock rotation and life.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As Prep Manager you will contribute, understand and translate the business strategy and objectives into a 'Living' plan, which is clearly understood and owned by the production teams.
The highest quality and food safety standards are embedded through the factory and standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer are maintained (GMP)
You will create a factory environment where individuals feel able to continually challenge the status quo, embrace change consistent with the company values and are encouraged to make decisions in driving continuous improvement. You will utilise appropriate agreed KPI's as a basis for the development of performance improvement plans within the department and cascade these KPI's through your teams, ensuring that they are translated and used at all levels.
Other duties include to plan, organise and measure resources to ensure that targets for production are met within set parameters and ensure that a safe working environment exists for the employees in the factory and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the SHE Policy (including the environmental objective) and by the Site Health & Safety Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

As Prep manager you will have good leadership skills and be passionate about developing people through coaching. You will have high attention to detail with good IT skills. Self motivated, demonstrating a high level of commitment, able to adopt a flexible approach and assume accountability for the operations teams. You will be an excellent organiser with good time management skills.

Prior experience of leading a team and resource planning in a people intensive, manufacturing environment is essential.

You will have an advanced food hygiene accreditation with HACCP level 3. Certification in either yellow or green belt six sigma and IOSH level 3, would also be extremely useful.
