Catman Jobs is currently recruiting a Junior Category Manager for a nationally recognised FMCG brand with a diverse portfolio of products within commuting distance of most parts of Yorkshire.

As a major player within its category, our client is constantly looking to advance and develop it's already diverse portfolio through driving category growth and developing relationships with the major retailers including Asda, Morrisons, Tesco & Sainsbury's.
The business is looking to recruit a junior Category Manager to join the team and push the business forward. Key responsibilities will include liasing with NPD, Marketing and Sales departments to ensure the company is keeping up to date with the latest trends. You will also be responsible for liasing with one of the retailers to ensure that a two way flow of communication is maintained. Identifying gaps, presenting ideas from NPD will all come into play in a role that requires the candidate to be both pro-active and re-active.
Key to fulfilling this Category Manager role will be the ability to work closely with the buyer at the retailer, therefore developed people skills are a must. The ability to analyse Kantar, Nielsen or IRI is also an essential requirement to the role, with developing a balance between analytical skills and "soft skills" being important. The culture at our client is very much that of working hard as a team to achieve goals, therefore a candidate who is able to function and communicate effectivley within a team will fit in very well.
