Business Development Manager, Foodservice, USA
UK based food manufacturer seeks US based BDM to manage key foodservice accounts and increase its presence within the USA.
Our client is a leading provider of high quality protein products for the retail, foodservice and B2B channels on an international scale.
Globally, millions of consumers eat its products every year and they have become the trusted partner for many QSR, casual dining and hospitality groups across all continents.
Due to significant export success with several leading foodservice customers in the USA, the business has taken the decision to strategically focus a significant amount of investment in developing this market further. Which is where YOU come in!
With a twofold strategy of increasing the business presence across its existing customer base and developing new business accounts you will be fully responsible for creating the strategic agenda with predominant focus on the foodservice channel. This role will liaise closely with the UK based foodservice trading team but is the first US based appointment by the business; no pressure.
The role requires strong relationships across the whole breadth of buyers and sellers within the US foodservice industry with high preference being within the meat and protein categories, although all categories will be considered. If you can quickly connect the dots from a supplier in New Mexico to a customer in New Jersey I want to hear from you.
As the regional representative of the business you will have exceptional business development, negotiation, presenting and communication skills as well as demonstrate natural commercial characteristics such as self-motivation, detailed analytical skills, tactical thought processing as well as being a natural relationships builder.
You will be home based for this role but in order for your appointment to be deemed successful you will be expected and required to undertake extensive travel across the USA. Over time you will be given the responsibility of developing a team and potentially a US office facility. Truly the evolution and the success of this role depend on you and you alone!
As this role is physically based in the USA we require a candidate who already holds US citizenship or residential status (you can already be based in the US or abroad), as well as the technical requirements for this role.
