If you have experience of working in a Quality or Technical related role in the food industry and want to work in Specifications we want to hear from you! We have an immediate opportunity for a technical professional from the food industry to join a busy Specifications team. Experience of working with retailer specifications systems would be great, or raw materials specifications, but technical professionals with an understanding of the role will be considered.
This is a great role to receive training and support on some of the top UK retailers systems and will allow you to liaise and work with suppliers and customers alike. You will be joining a market-leading, diverse manufacturing facility; a huge factory, that manufactures category award-winning chilled food products. There will be training and support and exposure to an array of systems that will broaden your expertise and allow you to develop and grow for the future. A forward-thinking, proactive business there will be training courses, and support for you to build your career and develop further within the business.
As a Specification Technologist you will write, process and approve product specifications. This will involve working with suppliers and customers on any technical issues in relation to Specifications. You will be supporting specifications work for over 100 existing products, with regular new product launches - so this will be a very busy role!
- Coordinate all information for new product specifications and transfer data to customer formats
- Complete hazard analysis risk assessments
- Utilise retailer specification systems for major retailers including M&S and Sainsbury's
- Technical sign off for packaging including checking artwork against specification
- Manage critical path to meet deadlines
- Maintain, review and update specifications
- Request and check raw materials specifications
- Collate information from factory trials
You will be of graduate calibre in Food Technology or related field and will have proven experience of working in a quality or technical role in the food industry. You will be IT literate, proactive, methodical, analytical and have great attention for detail. Prior experience of specifications would be desirable but not essential
